“Almost every sinful action ever committed can be traced back to a selfish motive. It is a trait we hate in other people but justify in ourselves. ”― Stephen Kendrick

When an individual only cares for themselves it can cause a lot of grief in the lives they touch, because they give no regard to others. Sometimes their only priority with any relationship is to take and never to give. I think a person of this nature needs to be looked upon closely at, not so much shunned away. Not to say exhaust yourself and give, give, give, but rather look deeply into that individual to understand why they have become so hardened and guarded of themselves. I am sure if any of us took a closer look we could read the story between the lines and it would open up a new chapter of compassion that we all could somehow relate too. We have all acted in selfishness at some point in our lives, so who are we to judge the selfish acts of others?

Sometimes we are so quick to point out the flaws in others, its so easy to turn the attention from our own paths and choices,  and spotlight it on someone elses flaws.  No one in this world is perfect, no one is free of mistakes, try to keep that phrase in mind the next time you wish to complain about another person; for whatever the reason.

Just keep in mind that we all operate on our own desire and actions, and we are literally in control of who can and cannot hurt us emotionally, we allow ourselves to open then close to whom we see fit in our lives.  Examine those whom surround you, ask yourself why they are in your life, people are reflections of ourselves, often times they are here to help us learn a lesson or experience, be aware of the message so that you can move on; remember individuals are here for a reason, season, or a lifetime, do not make an individual who was meant to be a temporary lesson become a permanent one.
