The hardest of lessons, truth be told, history repeats
Unsure feelings, smiles deceiving, nothing but repeated defeats
Shattered tears, fears, and a un-appreciated heart
Anger rises, sadness enters, fail before it starts
Sometimes here, sometimes there, feelings change like the weather
Same story, different person, repeats like a broken record
Open up, and then shut down, no more strength to break these walls
Million fears, confused heart, each time it’s only me who falls
Wandering mind, never the right time, this lesson never ends
Villains and games, lies and pretend, real and unreal now blend
Stuck in the past, like a car with no gas, you wait and wait but it still won’t go
Refuse to take risk, comfortable with less, your standards fall far too low
Too good for you, too good to be true, excuses pile sky high
Always some bullshit, communication is useless, my words lay here undefined
Can’t get through, believing nothing is true, destiny is denied, denied, denied
Life sits still, frozen in a winter chill; this repeated lesson never subsides….
Don’t understand, can’t accept this as true, too scared you’ll be deceived
Heart speaks one way, the mind a whole another, so you choose not to believe……
