None is more impoverished than the one who has no gratitude. Gratitude is a currency that we can mint for ourselves, and spend without fear of bankruptcy. --Fred De Witt Van Amburgh

Difficulties are hidden opportunities to better things; they are the stepping stones to a greater more fulfilling experience. Perhaps someday you will be thankful for some temporary failures in your life that caused one door to close and a better one to open. When you learn to find the good in everything, you learn to grasp life with deep appreciation, and that itself nurtures the soul.

There are countless ways in which we can open our eyes to gratitude and see all the wonderful things the universe has done, we suddenly notice there is so much less suffering; because we focus our attention on noticing what we are given, being thankful to all whom help us, and appreciative of another day of life, we gain a sense of balance and appreciation for all that we experience.
