My Inspiration…..

She’s that gentle whisper you hear through fall of autumn leaves

She is the one who lives inside you through all your laughter and grief

You carry her within your heart....I just don’t know where to begin

When these words escape me, it’s like trying to grasp at the wind

I will start by saying thank you for all love you’ve shown me in my years

For all the times you stood by my side through every painful tear

For all the times you worked long hours and got so very little rest

All the times I never said thank you for always providing me the best

For all your worries and all you’re suffering and all I have put you through

And never once abandoning me, even when I was not good to you

You’re the one who understood my tears and soothed my disappointments

You showed me inspiration and compassion through the way that you live

You have been my guiding light and helped me through the coldest darkness

You always encouraged and taught me to believe in myself and be confidant

You are truly underpaid, for being a mother is no easy task

It’s a 24 hour service with no bonuses or advances
Even when you caught me drug dealing and laid all the viles on the bed
through your tears and disappointment, you still loved me without regret
and when i became pregnant and i was so very young
you stood by side and never left me, even though i was looked down upon by everyone

Your heart is the purest I’ve seen; you help those around you in need

You would take the shirt off your back, and give it to a stranger on the street

You’re an amazing woman and your strength just blows my mind

You’re the one who taught me to value all that makes up this precious life

If I could be half the woman that you are, and love my kids the way you do

then I know my daughter will one day thankful for having a mother like you

I think of all those people who never experienced a mother’s love like yours

Blessing aren’t enough to describe just how appreciative I am of you

Your selflessness in all that you do in life and what you give to others

It is through your actions and your words that shown me life is mine to discover

So many times that I could have shown my love and given so much more than I did

Though I never took the time, as an adult or even when I was just a kid  

How often I take you for granted and just assumed you will always be there

For this I say I love you, for there no guarantees tomorrow you will be here
