The human story does not always unfold like a mathematical calculation on the principle that two and two make four. Sometimes in life they make five or minus three; and sometimes the blackboard topples down in the middle of the sum and leaves the class in disarray.

At times we are stopped from making necessary progress on our goals due to our feelings that we cannot perform things perfectly, there for it’s not worth bothering. There is something about the idea of being perfect that makes us think it would bring us happiness. If we were our ideal weight, perfect home, perfect job, perfect kids, perfect car, perfect town and just all around perfect life, then our troubles would be over. In reality certain flaws are necessary for the whole.

You know, life is full of imperfect things and imperfect people. How many times have you not participated or tried something due to the fear that you were not going to be able to perform it as good as everyone else or as perfectly as you would have liked to? Learning to accept each others faults and choosing to celebrate each others differences is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and fulfilling life. Take some time to stop focusing on doing everything right and just let go and do things period.

"The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself" – Anna Quindlen.
